Phoebe Voigt was Louis Patrick Gover's second wife. They had Louis Wm, Jarvey Richard, Clinton George and then Lee. Both Jarvey and Clinton died very young. Something happened to Louis Wm at a very young age and he became deaf. When Lee was born in 1917, he was in a school for the deaf in Austin. Phoebe died of eclampsia and her doctor, Minnie C O'Brien decided to do a Cesarean section and try to save the baby. L.P. was left with a newborn son, a deaf 7 year old and then he gets drafted in the big call up of 1917 to go fight Pancho Villa. His mother Emily was considered a nurse, so he agreed to leave Louie with her. I suspect Doctor O'Brien had something to do with Lee being adopted by the Linder's as she was Callye Linder's doctor also. Callye had had 8 miscarriages and apparently was in the hospital from the last one, when Lee was born. She and her husband Pat changed Lee's name to Jesse Lee and raised him.
